Review: Durban Poison by Cresco Lab
Embarrassingly, I had never heard of Durban Poison when the strain had been recommended for Work Sativa reviews. The strain has garnered worldwide popularity for decades. So I picked up an eighth of Durban Poison from Sunnyside in Champaign. Cresco Labs, and Illinois based company, produced the daytime strain engineered for an energetic high with a clear-headed and creative focus, my three favorite qualities for work sativa. I was “highly” productive while smoking Durban Poison, which undoubtedly puts this strain on the top-five work sativa list.

Don’t be fooled, at 25 percent THC, Durban Poison has a kick to it, but the cerebral high is uplifting and cheerful, good for sociability when working with others. Originating from the South African port city of Durban, the seeds from the true breed strain were reportedly brought to California and genetically improved before taken to Amsterdam. Cresco Labs has continued this tradition. The buds were chunky but not too dense with a sweet anise-like smell mixed with a spicy citrus. The flavor was sweet and spicy with hints of lemon. The smooth aftertaste was earthy but with an added citrus spice. I’ll definitely be adding this strain to the work sativa rotation.
