Homegrown Review: Tokyo Snow by John Grow #38
As mentioned in our last Medical Patient Homegrown Review, we ran into John Grow #38 at The Herban Legend Cup, and he told us about three strains he’d recently grown, including Tokyo Snow, bred by Compound Genetics.
Tokyo Snow is a cross of Hibachi Supreme (GMO and (Legend OG and Kobe) and The Menthol (Gelato 45 and (White Diesel and (High Octane and Jet Fuel G6) and flowers in about 9-10 weeks. The dark green and purple buds were dense and spade-shaped with a heavy coating of creamy trichomes.
The aroma and flavor were complex. The aroma delivered a heavy dose of earthy soil, kush, and mint with back notes of gas, cream, sweet pine, and grape. The flavor followed with the heavy earthiness, diesel, kush, and creamy mint on the front and back end. Each hit also carried undertones of creamy pine, peppery citrus, and sour grape.
The hybrid effects started with a strong uplifting euphoria and, at first, a clearheaded high. As the head high developed, the effects became heavier, with a headband feeling but more in the position of a blindfold. The longer into the buzz and with more doses, the heaviness of the high muddled thoughts and leaned more toward an indica effect once the body buzz kicked in. The body buzz onset took time to hit but once it did, the buzz transitioned from nothing to a heavy body and muscles relaxation that also felt like floating. Most of the buzz was functional, not too high or too low, until the very end, where the effects became more sedative.
The patient requested this information be released: John Grow #38 can be found @city_of_wiind and said, “Feel free to hit me up for any cultivation questions/advice.” John Grow #38 would love to see as many cannabis users start growing in Illinois as possible. “Quality cannabis can be grown by anyone in as small of a space as a closet,” he said. “Enjoying amazing, fresh, homegrown cannabis is a completely different experience than purchasing a consumer packaged good.”
John Grow #38 has been a registered medical marijuana patient for five years and has been growing his own medicine for two decades.
“I started growing out of fascination and curiosity,” he said. “After smoking for the first time at a very young age, I fell in love with the plant instantly. My friend’s father had a grow behind a false wall in his basement, and after seeing that first grow room, I knew I wanted one of my own. Squeezing the nearly ripe Cinderella 99 nugs and smelling the fruit punch funk they gave off sparked a journey that I will be on until I die.”
