Illinois again sets monthly record cannabis sales
For the sixth straight month, Illinois has increased its recreational sales of cannabis.
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation announced today that adult use of cannabis set another monthly record in total sales.
In August, Illinois dispensaries totaled $63,963,846.90 in adult-use cannabis sales.
In-state resident sales broke the million mark in items sold for the second time this year at 1,359,311 for a new record total of $46,749,971.04.
Out-of-state residence sales for August also hit a record number at $17,213,875.86.
In July, Illinois dispensaries totaled $60,956,981.41 in adult-use cannabis sales.
In-state resident sales broke the million mark for the first time in items sold at 1,270,063 for a total of $44,749,787.69, which was more than any of Illinois’ first four month of cannabis sales.
Out-of-state residence sales for July hit a record number at $16,207,193.72.
In June, Illinois dispensaries totaled $47,646,437.25 in adult-use cannabis sales.
In-state resident sales of 994,545 items sold for a total of $35,256,165.45.
Out-of-state residence sales reached $12,390,271.80.
June’s total sales were $3 million more than May’s total sales.
In May, retailors totaled $44,317,385.72 in adult-use cannabis sales, which was more than $4 million more than Illinois’ first month record-breaking sales of $39,247,840.83.
Illinois dispensaries totaled $37,260,497.89 in adult-use cannabis sales in April.
These figures do not include taxes collected.
