The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today released its April 2023 medical cannabis sales totals. April totals reached $28,034,031.49, including $12,872,834.64 in dry flower sales and $15,161,196.85 in concentrates/infused products. Licensed medical cannabis dispensaries served 65,052 unique patients, who purchased 1,257,499 grams of dry cannabis.

The $28 million-range for monthly sales totals has been about the average for several months. The current total number of active patients in the MCPP program as of April 30, 2023, is 137,498.

Total 2023 retail sales by licensed medical cannabis dispensaries totaled $111,325,231.45. Total Retail Sales since November 2015 by Licensed Medical Cannabis Dispensaries totaled $1,750,100,794.48. Total 2023 wholesale sales by cultivation centers reached $150,599,051.64, and total wholesale sales since November 2015 by cultivation centers totaled $2,813,753,359.23. Illinois has been stuck on 55 medical cannabis dispensaries for a few years with no future plans to add more.
