Illinois News Joint kicks off ‘A Friend Indeed’ program
For several months, Illinois News Joint has been partnering and collaborating with several businesses to set a foundation for our “A Friend Indeed” program. The A Friend Indeed program helps veterans, patients battling cancer, and anyone in desperate need with personalized equipment, genetics, and other resources to legally grow their own medicine at home. Our A Friend Indeed program is only as good as our collaborators, and at this time, we believe we have set in place a great foundation of resources that can now offer veterans and others high-quality support for any basic growing need, including free growing classes.
First, we have partnered with Modern Compassionate Care to help those who want to become a registered medical patient (at a discounted rate). Modern Compassionate Care handles the start-to-finish steps of the certification process, as well as other services. For any questions about scheduling an appointment please reach out by phone at 773-644-5535.
Once the patient is legal to grow medicine from home, Illinois News Joint has also partnered with seed banks/breeders and grow shops to help with free genetics and discounted equipment designed for specific needs, from budgets to grow spaces to strain preferences.
We have partnered with Aroma Grow Store and Blooms Brothers Hydro to help provide patients with the basic equipment and nutrients. We also have partnered with D.C. Seed Exchange, Cool Beans Seeds, Twenty20 Mendocino, Humboldt Seed Company, MzJill, Closetcat Seeds, Homegrown Cannabis Co., Golden Ratio, TasteBudz, PSGx, and Green Bodhi, with more to come including more THC/CBD ratio genetics for a wider range of treatments.
While setting in place the foundation for this program, we already have helped at least three people become registered medical cardholders in Illinois. We have also helped a handful of veterans with equipment, and assisted in finding specific genetics for six individuals (and two veteran groups that also assist growers) with a total of nine clones and 52 seeds to date. Now that we have launched this program, we can’t wait to watch it build to help as many people as we can.
If you’re interested in having “A Friend Indeed” in your life, please contact us via email or social media and let us know how we can help.
