The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation announced today recreational cannabis sales totals for August. August continued Illinois’ strong monthly sales, recording the third-highest monthly sales totals since legalization at $139,224,010.03. August followed only July 2023 total of $140,048,722.23 and December 2022 totals of $143,899,826.30.

August in-state resident sales and items sold totaled new records for Illinois. August in-state resident sales set a new record at $104,940,014.62, outperforming July 2023 and December 2022 in-state resident totals. Dispensaries sold a record 3,646,736 total items in August. August out-of-state resident sales totaled $34,283,995.41.
