The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today finally released its January and February medical cannabis sales totals. January medical cannabis sales totals reached $24,338,551.30, and February totals reached $24,427,904.62. Each monthly total marked the lowest January and February totals since legalization in Illinois.

In January, Illinois dispensaries sold $11,505,949.92 in dry flower sales and $12,832,601.38 in concentrates/infused products. Licensed medical cannabis dispensaries served 60,179 unique patients, who purchased 1,251,318 grams of dry cannabis. In February, Illinois dispensaries sold $11,474,605.18 in dry flower sales and $12,953,299.44 in concentrates/infused products. Licensed medical cannabis dispensaries served 60,906 unique patients, who purchased 1,243,042 grams of dry cannabis.

Total retail sales since November 2015 by licensed medical cannabis dispensaries totaled $2,012,330,727.38. Total retail sales for 2024 reached $48,765,439.01. Total 2024 wholesale sales by cultivation centers reached $66,850,312.73, and total wholesale sales since November 2015 by cultivation centers totaled $3,373,608,900.01. Illinois has been stuck on 55 medical cannabis dispensaries for a several years with no future plans to add more.
