Nearly $35 million in February cannabis sales for Illinois
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation announced sales totals for adult use of cannabis for the month of February.
The Illinois cannabis industry generated $34,805,072.01 in its second month of legalization.
Dispensaries sold 831,600 items over the 29-day period.
Sales to Illinois residents totaled $25,615,371, while sales to out-of-state residents totaled $9,189,701.01. These figures do not include taxes collected.
“These numbers show there continues to be a strong demand across the state,” said Toi Hutchinson, Senior Advisor for Cannabis Control to Governor Pritzker.
In January, recreational weed sales totaled more than $39.2 million, one of the strongest showings among states that have legalized marijuana.
Dispensaries sold $19,709,345.10 in the first twelve days of legalization and made $495,385 in transactions.
Dispensaries sold $3,176,256 in marijuana products and completed 77,128 purchases of cannabis on January 1.
