News Joint Grow Journal 85: Pink Portal OG (Part II)
For Part II of this grow journal, I smoked the finished product from my Pink Portal OG grow and am back to report on it (see Part I here). Pink Portal OG, exclusively crafted by MrsSoul, is the first drop from her “Resonance Collection” and is a cross of Cap Junky and Pink OG Kush (Canada).
I cured the buds for more than three weeks. The Christmas-shaped buds finished denser than expected. Pink Portal OG is one of those strains that kept gaining aroma and flavor the longer it cured. The aroma hit with earthy menthol, floral spice, citrus, diesel, sour fruit, and minty pine. The flavor also hit those notes but also added an earthy peppermint, sweet vanilla, sour kush, lemon citrus, and menthol diesel to the mix.
Pink Portal OG effects created an interesting mix of a heavy head high and a light floating sensation. The overall high provided an absolute chill-mode that reduced stress and tension in the mind and body. The strong but relatively clearheaded high kicked off with an uplifting mood booster that often felt wistful. At one point, I found myself smiling for no reason. Most of the time, the head high was creative, motivating, and extremely social. Bouts of thought wandering came and went, but I couldn’t figure out what triggered them.
The body buzz was heavier than expected, especially on the backend of the experience, and soothed muscle and joint aches without couchlock. Pink Portal OG worked well for medicating during late mornings, afternoons, and evenings as a mood booster, and for gaming, socializing, creative outlets, and getting through any chores with a smile. The strain also boosted my appetite late in the buzz.
