Review: GG#4 Budder and Blueberry Clementine Sauce by Revolution
I’m pleased to introduce to our concentrate review series two High Times Illinois Cannabis Cup entries: Gorilla Glue #4 Budder and Blueberry Clementine Sauce by Revolution Craft. Of course, the GG#4 Budder took top prize for Best Concentrates, but again, as with my last review, I preferred the other entry: Blueberry Clementine Sauce.
The GG#4, which really needs no introduction, is a triple cross between Chem’s Sister and Sour Dubb and Chocolate Diesel. The one aspect of GG#4 I enjoy is that the strain breaks the traditional sativa and indica traits. Revolution labeled the GG#4 Budder as a sativa, and the three parent strains are sativa-leaning strains. But the GG#4’s effects lean more toward traditional indica effects.
The GG#4 Budder hits hard with a fast onset. The total THC levels for this batch were 88.61%. Though others have disagreed, I found the strain’s buzz to be slow building. Not a creeper where I don’t know it was coming. But rather, even after the strong onset, the calming head and body buzz continued to build and build into more relaxation and sedation.
The caryophyllene and myrcene terpenes mixed with the limonene and linalool combine for an earthy diesel, spice, and citrus aroma and flavor. The complete terpene profile for GG#4 is usually dynamic with high levels of pinene, terpinolene, and humulene. This budder, which had a nice consistency, was no different. Overall, it’s a quality strain turned into a quality concentrate. However, I enjoyed Revolution’s Blueberry Clementine Sauce more.
Blueberry Clementine is a hybrid cross between (surprise!) Blueberry and Clementine. These two delicious strains combined for fantastic sauce. The sauce packed a citrus and fruity aroma and flavor that outshined nearly all other cannabis cup concentrate entries. I have not sampled the flower, but now I want to more than ever.
The Blueberry Clementine Sauce clocked in at 86.9% THC levels and .48% CBD, which was probably why I preferred it to the GG#4. Both the GG#4 and Blueberry Clementine delivered great body buzzes, but as I learn more about my body, the small amounts of CBD in strains complement the effects of the body buzz to add an extra muscle relaxation and pain relief.
The Blueberry Clementine Sauce’s cerebral high was relatively clear and focused for a strong hybrid. The more dabs I dosed, however, the heavier the head high set in. The body buzz and head high led to a strong appetite and eventually to sedation and a deep night of sleep. The consistency of the sauce was more like diamonds, but with the correct temperature, the sauce burned fine.
I dabbed and vaped the Blueberry Clementine Sauce mostly at night, but once in a while, I medicated before dinner for a better appetite. Overall, the Blueberry Clementine Sauce and GG#4 Budder were strong concentrate that I’d have no problem rotating into my medication schedule.
