Review: Mandarin Orange 1:1 THC:CBD and Green Apple 1:1 THC:CBG Gummies by The Botanist
According to a recent report by Pistil Data, 50 brands of gummies and chews are on Illinois dispensary shelves. As a reviewer, the constantly expanding options can be overwhelming. One of the brands I’ve wanted to check out for quite a while but had never crossed at my local dispensaries is The Botanist by In Grown Farms. I recently had the chance to try some of The Botanist samples at Higher Love for this review.
The Botanist offers Mandarin Orange 1:1 THC:CBD gummies with 20 mg of THC and 20 mg of CBD and Green Apple 1:1 THC:CBG gummies with 20 mg of THC and 20 mg of CBD. Each gummy was a rounded half sphere with roughly the same circumference of a quarter.

The Mandarin Orange was a translucent orange while the Green Apple carried a brighter, almost neon green tone. Both came covered in small sugar crystals. The Botanist gummies share the same texture as most pectin heavy options, an easy to chew soft gumdrop consistency that puts up very little resistance to the teeth.
The green apple gummies tart and sweet flavor was reminiscent of the artificial Jolly Rancher green apple flavor but without as much tart punch. The mandarin orange flavor was much more sweet than tart with a light hint of fresh orange on the finish. There was some light bitterness to the finish on both flavors, but it was more evident on the green apple, a trend I’ve found in most CBG heavy edibles.
The Botanist edibles set in slowly, taking more than a full hour before the effects reached their peak. The Mandarin Orange created a sense of peace and cut through some of my running self-talk, but the real relief was physical. The Mandarin Orange gummies relieved almost all the inflammation at my joints and chronic muscle pain in my back, even taking care of pains I was so accustomed to that I didn’t know I was carrying them.
The Green Apple was much less physical, providing a boost of mental energy and clarity that I’ve come to expect from CBG heavy options. Focused and motivated, I found these gummies to be a good fit for work. The physical effects were limited to some light tingles in my core.
