Review: MTF by Triple Crown
After reviewing the Boston Tea Party from Wyvern Botanicals’ everyday flower brand, Triple Crown, I decided to pick up another strain from Hatch Addison, an eighth of MTF.
MTF (Matanuska Thunder F@ck) is a sativa-leaning cross of Afghani and Northern Lights. This batch tested at 25.37% total THC and 30.18% total cannabinoids. Primary terpenes included terpinolene, ocimene, limonene, β-myrcene, and β-caryophyllene, with 3.37% total terpenes.

This eighth came as two humongous buds and two smaller thumb-sized buds. The light and dark green flower was dense with a slight bounce back when squeezed. The aroma hit with a heavy terpinolene note, with added notes of sweet sage, chocolate, fruit, pine, earthy musk, spice, and burnt lemon-lime. The flavor delivered fewer terpinolene notes and instead leaned more on the fruit, citrus tea, lemon-lime and an overall sweetness on the inhale. The exhale transitioned to notes of herbal pine, earthy skunk, peppery spice, and sweet wood.
The effects, like the Boston Tea Party, fit our Work Sativa series well. MTF delivered a clearheaded and energetic buzz with a motivating mindset. The body buzz, once it fully kicked in, leveled out the experience and added a strong weighted-blanket feeling that eased muscle and joint pain. Both head and body high were strong and provided a truer “sativa landrace” high than other sativa strains. MTF worked well for morning, midday, afternoon, and evening sessions while working, reading, gaming, binge-watching television, socializing, and chilling.
