Review: Oracle Live Budder by Superflux
In certain industry jobs, workers are constantly awash in a sea of new genetic names, so when an established grower is producing a strain I haven’t heard of, I pay attention. Superflux recently put out a new-to-me strain, Oracle, in concentrate form, so I stopped into Nature’s Care Co. in Rolling Meadows and picked up a half gram of Oracle Live Budder to review.
Oracle is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Prophet and Mob Boss. This live budder tested at 2.15% THC, 82.54% THCa, and 85.97% total cannabinoids. Indicated terpenes were limonene at 3.67%, β-caryophyllene at 1.06%, and ocimene at 0.73%
This half-gram of live budder came as a bright sunflower-yellow reflective pool covering almost the entire bottom of the glass. Tiny-crystal structures floated inside the denser yellow budder, glittering when held to the light. Terp-heavy at the top, this budder put up more resistance to my tool than anticipated, with a cold-honey consistency that was easy to dose out.
The aroma here was light and delicate, a combination of clean-leafy greens, germanium, wet moss, celery seed, and wet slate. The flavor was surprisingly earthy, savory, and hard hitting in contrast to the light aromatic quality. Notes of forest floor, fresh mushrooms, garlic, onion, and celery seed stuck to the palate for a long time post exhale. This budder was especially interesting as the difference between the aroma and flavor was more dramatic than any concentrate I have sampled.
Oracle was more cerebral than physical with a spacious but relaxed awareness setting in almost immediately. My mind was wiped clean of worries after my dab. My energy levels remained constant, making for a great headspace to work if the time of day was right. Oracle provided light tingles that moved through my body in waves at the peak, but these fell away quickly and only left some basic muscle relaxation behind.
Overall, the fascinating contrast between aroma and flavor left me intrigued to seek out and try more forms of Oracle. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
