Review: Special Sauce Vape Cart by BLOOM
While there are many out-of-state brands rushing into Illinois via the newly operational craft licenses, one of the fastest growing has been California’s BLOOM. Through the label’s partnership with The 1937 Group, they’ve brought an ever-widening list of all-in-one and standard carts to the Prairie State. I recently stopped and picked up a Special Sauce Vape Cart to review.
BLOOM Special Sauce is a distillate based vape infused with cannabis derived terpenes. This vape tested at 0.21% CBD, 83.2% THC, and 89.23% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 6% of the total.

The hardware was a traditional half gram metal coil/glass tank combo. BLOOM adds a small forest-green logo to a cream-colored ceramic mouthpiece to drive home the branding. The oil inside was a transparent dark amber with notably dark rings at the top and bottom of the oil line.
Despite the traditional hardware, the vape produced a thicker than normal cloud, providing a sweet opening note of candied lemon and artificial cherry, but this turned quickly toward a much more natural and herbal blend of dried parsley and basil, black olive, and black pepper. The herbal finish was much stickier than the sweet top notes, clinging to the palate for a minute or two post exhale.
BLOOM lists Special Sauce as a sativa, but the buzz hit me as a center spectrum hybrid. A few long pulls induced a hazy headspace that left me calm but stuck in my head, unfocused and detached from the moment. Pressure mounted behind my eyes but quickly subsided after the peak with the bulk of the buzz coming mentally. The post-peak tail left me calm but still more introspective than normally.
