Review: Stay Puft by Redemption Botanicals
I first met the Redemption Botanicals team back in September at the Illinois Craft Showcase, and after seeing their passion, I’ve looked forward to sampling the label’s flower. I recently had the opportunity to pick up an eighth of Stay Puft to review.
Stay Puft is a hybrid cross of Marshmallow OG and Grape Gasoline, originally bred by Compound Genetics. This batch of flower tested at 2.717% THC, 23.321% THCa, and 26.038% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 4.92% of the total weight with myrcene and limonene indicated as the heaviest.

Four sizeable, rounded flowers filled the jar. Darkly colored, the buds featured a deep forest and olive green at the flower surface, while deep-purple and black-sugar leaves added a striking contrast. The trichome layer had started the transition from solidly milky to amber, adding a creamy frost. The flowers were dense but had a lively nerfy squish and bounce back.
Rich, dense, and layered, a blend of hot diesel, fresh pine, musk, dry hops, mustard, onion, and tea tree worked over a sweeter undertone of roasted marshmallow, caramel, and rose. The flavor maintained the complexity of the aroma, delivering tangy diesel and roasted garlic over a creamy sweet marshmallow and caramel blend. Coating the palate on the way out, the sweet mix was still detectable for several minutes after smoking.
Stay Puft was very fast acting, inducing a heavy brow and facial pressure almost instantly before spreading down into the rest of my body as a wave of warming, relaxing, muscle relaxation. Initially, the head change was towards a more open and calm state, but as the peak approached, so did a thick mental haze that slowed my train of thought. Despite the heavy body buzz and hazy mental shift, Stay Puft never left me feeling tired. In fact, once the heaviest effects cleared, I consistently felt refreshed and rejuvenated after smoking.
