First adult use only dispensary opens in Chicago
For the second day in a row, Cresco Labs has opened a new adult use only dispensary in Illinois.
Yesterday, Cresco opened Sunnyside Danville, the first adult use only dispensary in east central Illinois.
Today at 10 a.m., Sunnyside River North will open for business as the first adult-use only dispensary in Chicago.
Sunnyside River North, located at 436 N. Clark Street in the prestigious River North neighborhood, is Cresco Labs’ seventh Illinois dispensary. Three additional locations are planned for central business district in Chicago, South Beloit, and Schaumburg.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the store will operate through online orders only and with in-store pickups. Customer can pre-order online by creating an account (click here).
With a registered account, customers can shop and browse the live inventory, add products to a cart, and checkout. Then submit the order.
Online ordering is available from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Sunnyside will message the customer once the order is submitted and then again when the order is ready for pick up.
At the dispensary, customers are required to wear masks and must maintain social distancing while shopping in store. Customers will have to show ID and order confirmation.
For safety and wellbeing, Sunnyside is limiting the number of customers inside the store at one time.
Employing a consumer-packaged goods (“CPG”) approach to cannabis, Cresco’s house of brands includes Cresco, Remedi and Mindy’s, a line of edibles created by James Beard Award-winning chef Mindy Segal.
Sunnyside is Cresco Labs’ national retail brand, and its brand products are grouped into three benefits to get customers through the day: Rise (sativa), Refresh (hybrid), and Rest (indica).
To start the morning, Sunnyside River North menu lists five Cresco flower strains: Apple Rock Candy, Bio Jesus, Face Mints, High Supply Hybrid Shake, and High Supply Sativa Shake.
According to Cresco Labs’ website, High Supply is quality cannabis available in bulk with buds that are expertly grown, lab-tested, and available in popcorn, shake, pre-rolls, and vapes.
River North’s menu also lists Gelato, Ghost Train Haze, Jack Herer, Mac, and Super Glu flower strains, as well as pre-rolls, concentrates, and edibles.
“We are thrilled to be opening the first adult use store in Chicago under the state’s new legislation and to provide an example of what normalized and professionalized cannabis looks like with a location in a traditional business district, a local and diverse operating team and a tremendous amount of community input and support,” said Charlie Bachtell, Cresco Labs’ CEO and Co-founder. “We recruited and trained our team of wellness advisors from all over Chicagoland and look forward to catering to the wellness needs of the downtown community following the responsible shopping methods we developed in conjunction with state regulators.”
Cresco’s other operational Sunnyside dispensaries are located in Wrigleyville Chicago, Elmwood Park, Buffalo Grove, Rockford, and Champaign.
According to Sunnyside’s website, “Sunnyside is a new kind of dispensary, where cannabis is wellness. No matter who you are, why you’re here, or what you know about cannabis, our Wellness Advisors will serve as a guiding voice. Our goal is to help you explore and discover how cannabis can make everyday life better for you—serving as a clear, accessible path to wellness.”
