2024 Hemp Open House set for Aug. 2
The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Department of Crop Sciences and the Illinois Hemp Growers Association (IHGA) are scheduled to co-host the annual Hemp Research Open House Friday, Aug. 2.
The 2024 Hemp Research Open House is set to run from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the University’s Fruit Research Farm located at 2711 S. Race Street in Urbana. Free registration for the event can be found here. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other professionals in the field, tour the research demonstration plots consisting of grain and fiber variety trials, grain and fiber type hemp genetic improvement nursery, and different agronomy trials such as planting dates, N rate, and seeding rate in till or no-till plots.
The event also will host hempcrete demos and opportunities to learn about the IHGA, NHA, and their collaboration on the Decatur Water Quality Initiative Hemp Pilot.
