Grow Journal 65: Lemon Bubblegum by 34 Mongrels (Part 2)
I’ve grown many lemon strains trying to find my preferred flavor profile. But nothing had hit that sweet spot until this Lemon Bubblegum by 34 Mongrels Genetics. As mentioned in Part I, Lemon Bubblegum is a cross of Lemon Skunk and Indiana Bubblegum that was then backcrossed with the Lemon Skunk. And it’s one of my new favorite strains.
The round light-green buds with bright-orange pistils flaring outward were extra sticky, leaving a smell of lemon skunk on the fingertips with each touch. The aroma delivered a sweet lemon, sour citrus, pine, and skunk. The flavor hit first with the same sweet and sour lemon and skunk but with added notes of tangy citrus and Bazooka Joe bubblegum. The exhale unloaded the lemon citrus with hints of sweet bubblegum, berries, and sweet floral herbs. The back end of the exhale hit with the strong sweet-lemon citrus and faint bubblegum that lingered on the palate for an extensive period, a “natural lemon” flavor I have been trying to find for four years now.
The potent effects were cerebral, uplifting, euphoric, motivating, clearheaded, and fit our Work Sativa series to a T. The heady high sat heavy in the top of the crown and eyes and with high doses could cause a moment or two of thoughtlock before moving back to a clearheaded and motivational high. Lemon Bubblegum has been a great Work Sativa for mental work and added enough of a body buzz to anchor a relaxation that allowed me to sit and work for long periods.
The body buzz slowly built until a heavy relaxation took over muscles and joints. Along with mental work, the body buzz also allowed me to be highly functional for physical work as well. Lemon Bubblegum has jumped to the top of my list has favorite strains, and I could my tent full of this strain.
