Grow Journal 57: Cannatrol Cool Cure (Part I)
The most important and influential aspect for growing my own medicine has been “grow space.” My limited grow space has affected almost every decision I’ve made about growing. A 4×4 tent in my work office limits space for nutrients and other supplies, and more importantly, I have no controlled environment to dry my plants. So even after a couple successful grows, I nearly ruined my medicine because of improper drying. Recently, I remedied this problem by adding one new grow improvement: the Cool Cure by Cannatrol.
The Problem
I have extremely limited grow space. A third of my work office is taken up with my grow tent, Nectar for the Gods nutrient line, and other additives. As mentioned in one of my first journal entries, I commandeered the mudroom bathroom for early vegging and drying, but drying my plants paused the entire grow cycle for 10-14 days. More importantly, I had no way to properly control the environment in the bathroom. In the summer, plants dried too quickly. In the winter, plants dried too cold and slow. In a couple incidences, successful grows were medically downgraded because of improper drying.
The Solution
Enter the Cannatrol Cool Cure. The Cool Cure is designed to consistently deliver the perfect drying, curing, and storage conditions for home growers like me. The patented Vaportrol® Technology controls the process with gentle water removal using the power of vapor pressure. Although I’ll be delving deeper into the science and other aspects of this technology in follow up journal entries, for the next two entries, I’m focusing on the exact reasons why the Cool Cure has been (spoiler alert!) the perfect solution to my grow space and drying problems.
I’d met part of the Cannatrol team at NECANN in 2023 when we vended next to each other. After overhearing the Cannatrol pitch to attendees for two days, I became obsessed with the Cool Cure, because the product seemed to be the solution to my biggest grow problem, drying. I’ve had my Cool Cure for a few months now, and here are three specific points on how the Cool Cure has tremendously improved my grow process and, ultimately, my medicine:
- Environment: With no access to environmental controls for temperature and humidity in a tiny mudroom bathroom, the Cool Cure controls the environment with its patented technology better than I ever could.
- Space: The size of the Cool Cure unit (23″X25″X33″) fits comfortable in my office and frees up the tiny bathroom for starting seedling for the following grow cycle.
- Time: The Cool Cure saves grow cycle time with its 4-day dry cycle and allows for (almost) continues grows and, as such, more grows or per year.
Stay tuned for following journal entries in which I delve deeper into these three bullet points to better explain how the Cool Cure has changed the way I grow.
