Journal Entry Update:
Days In Grow: 5-12
This week was a learning experience. At first I believed it was set it and forget it, but I filled the bucket past the net pot, soaking the hydroton clay pebbles, which in turn raised the pH of the water from the desired 5.8 to 6.6 in 3 days. I noticed because there was slight burn forming on the tips of my seedling.
I asked a friend and was told I should check and pH the water daily for the first two weeks until I change the water out to start the vegetative set of nutrients. I mixed pH down into the bucket and dropped it to 5.7ph to allow for the rise. Since I got that figured out I’ve noticed growth, and stopped the burning. I can also see roots poking out through the holes in the net pot as she begins to take off.

Days In Grow: 12-20
It’s been pretty simple since I changed the water last. In the course of a week I saw roots peeking out from the hydroton clay, and now they are fully submerged in the water. My light may be a little intense, as I’ve noticed the plant growing close to the pot, so I raised it a bit and will check it with the meter tomorrow after the week 2 vegetation water change. Also looking at topping it after as well.
