The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) announced today that recreational cannabis sales totals for April 2025 reached $146,605,932.99, a slight drop from March 2025 totals but more than April 2024 totals. For the first four months of 2025, Illinois sales totals nearly match the first four months in 2024. January-April totals in 2024 reached $562,743,217.30. January-April totals in 2025 are at $564,890,186.85. Totals for the next eight months will decide if Illinois will decrease in overall year-over-year cannabis sales for the first time since adult-use legalization.

Illinois dispensaries sold 4,514,562 cannabis items in April 2025, and in-state resident sales in April 2025 reached $116,606,027.51. Total item sold from January-April 2025 are at 16,684,800, which is up from January-April 2024 totals of 15,377,899. Total in-state resident sales for January-April 2025 are at $448,193,965.07, which is more than 2024 totals of $434,519,325.49. Total January-April 2025 out-of-state resident sales decreased from $128,223,891.80 in 2024 to $116,696,221.78 in 2025.
