The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) released its January 2025 medical cannabis sales totals. Illinois kicked off the year with the lowest monthly total since July 2019. Retail sales of medical cannabis for January dipped to $21,459,882.77, which included $10,277,965.97 in dry flower sales and $11,181,916.80 in concentrates/infused products. Licensed medical cannabis dispensaries served 56,127 patients, who purchased 1,226,589 grams of dry cannabis.

Total retail sales since November 2015 by licensed medical cannabis dispensaries reached $2,270,083,902.18. Total wholesale sales by cultivation centers in 2025 hit $26,600,185.42, and total wholesale sales since November 2015 by cultivation centers finished at $4,059,953,762.14.
