Illinois starts 2021 with record recreational cannabis sales
After the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation announced that recreational cannabis sales for 2020 totaled $669,084,410.12, Illinois kicked off 2021 with a record month in recreational sales.
January cannabis sales totaled $88,813,872.78, which was a jump of almost 2 million from December’s previous sales record of $86,857,898.27.
In-state resident sales in January increased to $63,745,077.18 (up from December’s totals of $63,490,405.77) with 1,898,064 items sold.
Out-of-state resident sales increased from December’s $23,367,492.50 to January’s $25,068,795.60.
