The Division of Cannabis Regulation today sent out emails for a second notice to those in the Medical Cannabis Patient Program and Opioid Alternative Patient Program about the new online registration portal that will be live Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

According to the email, the new portal will be easier to use and will be compatible with mobile devices, both Apple and Android. To make this change, the system will be down between 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 22, and 9:00 AM on Tuesday April 29, 2025. If your medical cannabis registration is set to expire or if you have corrections due between April 15, 2025, and May 29,2025, you will automatically be granted an extension until May 30, 2025.  Please login to print a card with the extended date before by 5:00 PM April 22, 2025.

Patients and Caregivers will need to create a new login and password. We encourage you to complete the first step of this process NOW by clicking this link How To Guides, for a video and information on setting up your account.  The Medical Cannabis platform login icon will be displayed on your ILogin dashboard on April 29, 2025.  You will be sent additional instructions for that process at that time.

Your information will be moved into the new system automatically. Caregivers will have a separate login to access your patient’s information. You will receive an email invitation soon that will allow you to access the new platform.

The Illinois Department of Public Health has created a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page about the switch to the new system. The Division of Cannabis Regulation encourages patients and caregivers to start the process of creating your new login and password so that you will have uninterrupted access to the system when it goes live.
