After a short break from my grow journal, I decided to run several strains from the same breeder: Humboldt Seed Company. This grow journal features Raspberry Parfait, a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of Truffula Tree and Shishka Berry.

I popped one female Raspberry Parfait seed in a solo cup and eventually transplanted into a 5-gallon pot. During vegetation, the light-green plant grew short and bushy with close nodes. I topped early, and that was all the plant needed to create an even canopy. The leafiness of the plant demanded a couple of different pruning sessions during vegetation.

During the middle of vegetation and right before flipping to flower, I performed Kyle Kushman’s supercropping and “chiropractic” techniques. I also lollipopped the plant but not as much as usually do because I didn’t expect a long stretch during the first weeks of flowering and the plant was already bushy (I could have waited at least another ten days of vegetation). During vegetation and flowering, I used Nectar for the Gods nutrient line, SLF-100, and Fishshit and grew under a BlackBird light sponsored by HLG.

Once flipped, the plant, as expected, had a short stretch. The plant needed minimal watering and nutrients during vegetation and flower. The buds grew round, from marble-sized to golf-ball sized, and had an abundance of long pistils that transitioned from white to bright orange. The Raspberry Parfait led with a terpinolene-heavy aroma that mixed with a tart and sweet berry funk and skunky kush. The extreme heat this summer affected the temperature in my tent, and I think it lowered the trichome production and kept the leaves from fading. I chopped the plant on day 63 of flower, and it produced an average harvest. I lightly trimmed the largest sugar leaves before placing the buds inside my Cool Cure by Cannatrol to dry. I dried the buds in four days and cured for four days in the Cool Cure before placing the fully trimmed buds into Grove Bags and mason jars.
