Review: 100:10:1 Energy Tincture by The Botanist
I believe that one of the most promising features of cannabis is the plant’s array of minor cannabinoids, such as THCV, CBG, and CBN, that can create new types of experiences. The Botanist has recently released a tincture, tapping into this feature with THCV and CBD. I recently stopped in to Nature’s Care Co. in Rolling Meadows and picked up the 100:10:1 Energy Tincture to sample.
The Botanist Energy Tincture is a 1 fluid ounce tincture with 1000mg of CBD, 100mg of THCV, and 10mg of THC total. The ingredients are MCT oil, sunflower lecithin, CBD isolate, natural flavoring, cannabis oil, THCV isolate, and cannabis terpenes.

Contained in a classic glass bottle with measured dropper, the Energy tincture came as a translucent amber free flowing oil. Each 1ml dropper full was equal to 33.33mg of CBD, 3.33mg of THCV, and 0.33mg of THC. It was easy to accommodate a couple dropper fulls together at one time and hold the oil beneath the tongue for 20 seconds before swallowing, per the directions.
The flavor was heavily herbal, blending the tones of basil, rosemary, and coriander flavoring into a pleasant warming tone that took on an almost peppery note on the tongue. The classic, slightly bitter flavor of CBD-heavy extract was present but incorporated nicely into the overall herbal taste. The flavor was “sticky” and held on to the palate long after swallowing the tincture.
The Energy Tincture was very fast acting, and after two-to-three droppers full, a clear and open headspace knocked down background anxiety and sharpened my focus for over an hour post dosing. Physically, my chronic pains disappeared, and an overall lightness continued to build to the point of providing a floating sensation at the peak. THCV is known for an appetite suppressant effect and at higher doses, this came through clearly as I could breeze through a workday without getting hungry.
Overall, I enjoyed the intoxication free focus and I plan on incorporating this tincture and more THCV products into my day-to-day. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
