Review: Affie OG by Flora
One benefit to the expansion of licensed cultivators in Illinois is a wider genetic variety available to consumers. Labels such as Flora embody this, consistently releasing new (and sometimes obscure) cultivars. I recently stopped at High Haven Elgin and picked up the new-to-me Affie OG to review.
Affie OG is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of ((SFV OG x Chem D) x ‘78 Affie) and Sour Best Shit Ever. This batch of flower tested at 0.626% CBDa, 0.624% CBD, 27.1% THCa, and 29.4% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 1.99% of the total weight.

Four chunky-rounded buds were deep-forest green with dark-royal-purple remnants of sugar leaf hugging the surface closely. Wiry, outreaching orange hairs and a frost of ambering trichomes added another layer of variety to the visual appeal. The exterior produced a hashy greasiness when handled, but there was still a springy, nerfy moisture at the center.
The top of the jar aroma was a tangy blend of orange peel, grapefruit flesh, dry hops, hot diesel, and ocean brine. This sharp top end was contrasted against a rich and savory undertone that was just as strong as the tangy top notes. A blend of freshly turned earth, wet moss, peanut butter, wet slate, and leather lingered in the nostrils. The earthy undertones of wet moss and slate came to the front of the profile on the palate, while the grapefruit and hot diesel worked together to create a punchy, slightly sour, lingering finish.
Affie OG took almost fifteen minutes to fully unfold, initially providing a light brow pressure accompanied by a rush of mental energy. The localized pressure spread quickly, morphing into a tingling full body euphoric buzz, while my headspace became clear and spacious. The combination of energy and clearheadedness was exactly what I needed for a sharp productivity boost, which also fits our Work Sativa review series.
