Some strains are so famous that even their progeny get special attention. That’s what caught my attention with the new offering from Bedford Grow at Maribis Springfield: AJ Sour Diesel.

AJ Sour Diesel is a slightly sativa dominant hybrid cross of AG Sour Diesel and PSA. This batch of live resin tested at 83.8% THCA and 89.15% total cannabinoids. The primary terpenes were limonene, β-caryophyllene, and β-myrcene. The next three prevalent terpenes included valencene, linalool, and β-elemene.

This gram came as several clumps of burnt golden-orange sugar with a reflectivity that almost glowed. The crystals were large and closer to tiny diamonds than fine sugar. The small crystals had a lot of stick to them and made for simple and accurate dosing.

The scent in the jar was sharp and led with tangy diesel and citrus but quickly showcased the variability of the strain with heavy sharp cheddar, skunk, mint, and cinnamon notes.

The vapor also carried this showcase of strong classic-cannabis flavors with diesel, skunk, and mint carrying the bulk of the taste.

The limonene content hit me first opening with a jolt of clearheaded energy and a euphoric body tingle. AJ Sour Diesel is much more balanced than the famous portion of it’s name would indicate, though as time wore on the body buzz became much less euphoric and more pain relieving.

Overall, this was a great afternoon mood boost that never hit me too hard, even at high doses. Consumers will find big flavors and balanced effects.
