Review: Animal Cake Live Resin Disposable by Ozone
As a heavy cannabis consumer, one product category I tend to overlook is the disposable vape pen. The combination of low dosage and (usually) lower quality oil doesn’t work for my needs. So I was excited to see a higher quality live resin in a disposable at this year’s Cannabis Camp in the shape of Ozone’s Animal Cake Live Resin Disposable Vape that I received as a sample.

Animal Cake is an indica dominant hybrid cross of Animal Cookies (GSC and Fire OG) and Birthday Cake (GSC and Cherry Pie). This live resin tested at 74.18% THC and 77.23% total cannabinoids.
This “Ozone Reserve” disposable came as a small grey rectangular box, roughly the same size as a lighter but slightly thinner. There was also a standard USB-A port at the bottom for charging which seems like overkill for a 300mg dose, but the thought was appreciated.
A small droplet shaped window near the top displayed the oil quantity left and a small light near the middle of the body lit up when hit. The flavor carried very well thanks to the “live” nature of the product, and I detected black pepper, fresh herbs, tangy diesel, and a heavy, freshly turned earth note on the finish.
If you’ve had the classic GSC, imagine all the funkiness therein turned up to 11. There was only one temperature setting on this vaporizer, and while the low temperature maximized the flavor, there was a definite punch that I was missing.
This live resin worked quickly, and after a few hits. I was overcome with a heavy body tingle and my train of thought slowed to a relaxing flow. The light nature of the vape setting made for a very controllable experience with one hit being just right to relax me during high stress situations and three or more really turning into an end of day experience. This vape worked well for insomnia as well, something I value highly.
