Review: Apples and Bananas by Cookies
We haven’t reviewed Cookies flower since September 2023, so I picked up a couple strains from Cookies Bloomington, including this Apples and Bananas.

Apples and Bananas, crafted by Compound Genetics, is a hybrid cross between Platinum Cookies and Granddaddy Purple, followed by Blue Power, and then crossed with Gelatti. This batch tested at 0.54% THC, 23.34% THCa, and 25.16% total cannabinoids.

The thumb-sized buds were dark green and purple, almost gray, with dark-orange pistils and a heavy coating of amber trichomes. The buds were dense but had light bounce back when squeezed. The aroma hit with a sweet gas mixed with cherries, baked goods, earth, and pine. The flavor delivered baked cake, gas, cherries, sweet berries, green apples, overripe banana, and kushy sour citrus. A sweet gas and cake combo highlighted the exhale and lingered on the palate.
The effects were heavy and landed in the middle of the sativa-indica spectrum. The head high wore like a tight, weighted stalking cap pulled down past the eyes. With lower doses, the functioning head high uplifted my mood and overall attitude. With higher doses, the head high was less conversation inducing and more internal thought inducing. The body hit with a quick onset, starting in the arms and legs and continuing inward until the waves of muscle relaxation caused a floating sensation. Overall, Apples and Bananas worked well for me in the evening when I wanted to begin unwinding and ease into relaxation without heavy drowsiness.
