Review: Atomic Dog Live Resin by Bedford Grow
Some Illinois producers have been moving through strains so quickly that I can barely keep track. Bedford Growhas expanded its strain library every time I check in, and as a voracious consumer, I couldn’t be happier. This Atomic Dog Live Resin was another strain I had never encountered, and I was delighted to try it out.
Acquired at Maribis Springfield, Atomic Dog is an indica leaning hybrid rumored to be a selected phenotype of OG Kush. This batch of live resin tested at 70.44% THCA, 8.35% Delta 9 THC, 4.45% CBGA, and 84.79% total cannabinoids. The primary terpenes were terpinolene, limonene, b-myrcene, as well as notable amounts of b-caryophyllene, and ocimene.

This gram came as smaller chunky diamonds in a deep amber sauce. I mention this in most of my reviews of Bedford concentrates, but it’s so impressive to me that these are released simply as “live resins” at a time when diamonds and sauce releases are fetching a premium in Illinois dispensaries.
Oh, the funk! The nose here is dominated by skunk, cheese, burnt orange, and tangy hops on the finish. The terpinolene and myrcene outshine the limonene easily, and there are no floral or fruit notes to be found.

“Old school” works well as a descriptor because these skunky, funky, cheesy tones are definitely a blast from the past compared to the fruity, doughy, sweetness that is so popular right now. The flavor carried the skunk and cheese tones for a heavy classical flavor that lasted on the palate.
The effects left no doubt about Atomic Dog’s indica heritage. I felt a quick dissolution of the day’s anxiety, and a smile crept onto my face. The head effects continued to build as the experience continued, and by the peak, I almost felt dazed. =
This is definitely not a daytime strain. The body effects were as heavy as the mind effects, and I was quickly laid out on the couch with a solid “warm blanket” body buzz.
