Review: Berry In Love Strawberry Chocolate Swirl Chews by Betty’s Eddies
One sign of a maturing Illinois cannabis marketing has been the uptick in limited seasonal and holiday releases. Betty’s Eddies has a rotating slot for these special products and recently dropped a Valentine’s Day-themed chew. I stopped at Thrive Anna and picked up a bag of Betty’s Eddies Berry In Love 2:1 THC:CBG Strawberry Chocolate Swirl Chews to review.
Betty’s Eddies Berry In Love 2:1 THC: CBG Strawberry Chocolate Swirl Chews come as a 10-pack of chews with 10mg of THC and 5mg of CBG per chew. Each individually wrapped chew was one-inch across. A rough, hand-rolled swirl of milk-chocolate-cocoa brown and pastel pink varied across each piece, adding some visual variety to the package. The candies had a soft, pliable, slightly tacky chew similar to state-fair taffy with the organic freeze-dried strawberry pieces adding some tiny bursts of texture while chewing.

The slightly sweet, slightly acidic brightness of the strawberry layer hit the palate first with a natural tang. The richer cocoa-heavy chocolate was close behind, adding depth to the profile while helping to obscure the herbal note of cannabis underneath it all. Each flavor was independently strong, and it was clear these were two full-flavored candies combined to make something different.
The chews were fast to unfold, peaking within 20 minutes. The headspace was expansive and serene, leaving me grounded in the moment but open and receptive. Pain free and relaxed, my body seemed to melt away into the background, further emphasizing the headchange. The calm and centered effect lasted for a full hour with the entire profile peaking and returning to baseline within 90 minutes. Overall, these were delicious candy with a great CBG heavy effect profile.
The ingredients are glucose syrup, granulated sugar, full spectrum cannabis infused coconut oil, cocoa powder, sunflower lecithin, natural flavor oil, organic freeze-dried strawberries, potato starch, tartaric acid, ascorbic acid, tapioca maltodextrin, pectin, vanilla extract, salt, horny goat weed, vegetable juice extract, CBG isolate, and tapioca starch.
