Review: Biscotti by Kaviar
While I may complain about a lack of infused baked goods at Illinois dispensaries, there’s no shortage of strains named after baked goods. I recently stopped in at Star Buds Burbank where Kaviar had recently added Biscotti to its lineup. Interested in what the craft label is bringing to market with the cookie-heavy strain, I picked up a sample to review.
Biscotti is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Gelato #25 and South Florida OG. This batch of flower tested at 1.87% THC, 21.36% THCa, and 23.89% total cannabinoids.
Small rounded olive-green popcorn-sized buds were covered with a milky trichome frost. These flowers were closely trimmed, leaving no sugar leaf remnants to inspect. Dense and sticky in the hand, this flower sprung back to life after grinding, exhibiting a nice fluffiness.
Opening the jar released notes of cream, vanilla, diesel, dry hops, and hints of lime, as well as a rich and warm cedar tone at the finish. The tart diesel and smooth cream worked together on the palate to create a centered taste experience. The cedar and lime appeared at the finish, adding some complexity to the profile.
Biscotti struck more at the center of experiential spectrum than its indica-leaning genetics indicated with a calm, collected mindscape that brought down my anxiety without influencing my concentration or energy levels. This open and calm headspace was a good fit for creative work, and I enjoyed Biscotti most before working on information-based problems.
Physically, tingling euphoric sensations moved throughout my body and an antiinflammatory pain reduction remained steady throughout the experience without becoming too heavy handed. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
