Review: Black Mamba Vape Cart and Pro Battery by Airo
While I consistently return to brands to sample new strains and edibles, it’s not often I get to try new vape hardware in Illinois dispensaries. I recently had the chance to try the Airo Pro battery, alongside the brand’s Black Mamba vape cart, to see what the Airo is doing to stand out in this new market.
The Airo Pro battery is a sturdier version of the Airo Sport battery I reviewed here. The deep-forest green battery was solid metal and described to me as “virtually indestructible.” While I didn’t test that claim, the setup was more durable than most vapes thanks to the aforementioned metal construction and the fact that the glass sleeve of the cartridge was covered when in use.

The Airo batteries vibrated when being hit, a kind of haptic feedback that improves upon the usual glowing light. There was a simple USB charger port on the bottom and a solid magnetic connector linking the cart and battery. The Black Mamba vape cart was a distillate-based oil infused with botanically derived terpenes, billed as a citrus and blackberry-flavored sativa experience. This cart tested at THC 84.65% and CBD 0.30%.
The taste profile offered a candy sweet blend of berries, resembling a fusion of cherry and blue raspberry ICEE syrup. The flavor remained consistent with each puff, and the generous clouds produced by the Airo vape device coated the entire palate.
The effect profile hit quickly with a pressure behind the eyes that spread down, creating a real body buzz. Mentally, I was relaxed but distracted, as some haziness set in. Energy levels slightly peaked, I liked the Black Mamba vape cart as a early or midday break at low doses.
Overall, I enjoyed the experience and I’m interested to see how Airo continues to evolve in Illinois. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
