Review: Crops Blue Agave by Justice Cannabis Co.
By @medsforheads
I stopped shying away from lower-THC flowers as soon as I figured out that less THC in the trichome head leaves more room for terpenes. Since Justice Cannabis Co.’s Crops brand has been earning my confidence more with each pickup, I trusted the cultivator to deliver a satisfying experience with its Blue Agave, testing at 19.91% THC and stocked at NuEra Chicago.
Blue Agave is a cross of Orange Acai 7 (Acai Gelato x Legend Orange Apricot F2) and The Menthol bred by high-profile Oregon breeder Compound Genetics.

The eighth I grabbed was harvested March 3, packaged March 22, and sampled between May 30 and June 11. One large, regal-looking terminal bud made up the majority of the eighth, rounded out by a pair of popcorn buds. A healthy coating of intact trichomes studded the lavender and turquoise-hued flower, making for a vivid maelstrom of color.
The complex scent awaiting me inside the jar was one of earthy pine trees after a rainfall, backed by rose and camphor gas. Breaking up the buds by hand filled the air with spearmint, creamy cookie, and sour herbs, with notes of musky grape and orange blossom hiding until the grind. A dry hit off a freshly-rolled joint was heavy on the sweet citrus, letting orange-scented marker and marmalade candy waft over my palate.

Blue Agave was supremely smokable, with a soul-settling, day-brightening effect that sets in quickly. Though I felt slowed down with a conversation-inhibiting verbal block, the social anxiety that often accompanies big crowds was absent as I welcomed the sight of people walking past. The flavor-rich flower burned with notes of acidic coffee, intoxicating chemicals and lacquer-glazed duck breast grilled over aged wood.
To me, the medicinal value of this flower was its ability to dissipate my shoulder tension and induce a deep, contemplative calm without inviting munchies. Though the scatterbrained buzz impeded me when trying to focus, it complemented periods of passivity perfectly with a lip-smacking smoke.
