Review: Botanical Prerolls by Spliff Society x Galaxy Labs
Brand collaborations can be a powerful driver for market innovation. Spliff Society’s botanical’s tobacco-free cones and Galaxy Labs’ craft flower recently combined for one of those innovative collaborations: Botanical Prerolls. I recently picked up all three options from the latest drop for a full review.
The Spliff Society x Galaxy Labs Botanical Prerolls came as 1-gram prerolls inside tobacco-free blunt cones with three different options. Guava Bars was a hybrid cross of Biscotti and Guava’z #74 testing at 0.81% THC, 23.46% THCa, and 26.88% total cannabinoids with 2.79% terpenes wrapped with a goji berry cone. Brioche French Toast was an indica-leaning hybrid cross of THC Bomb and Maui French Toast testing at 0.676% THC, 24.522% THCa, and 25.962% total cannabinoids with 2.87% terpenes wrapped with a cocoa-based cone. Garlic Cocktail is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of GMO and Mimosa testing at 0.36% THC, 24.5% THCa, and 26.83% total cannabinoids with 2.75% terpenes wrapped with a lotus flower cone.

Visually impactful right from the tube, the “flavors” weren’t a simple infusion but what the cones were made of. The Cocoa wrapped Brioche French Toast had the most traditional appearance, a chocolate brown cone that looked like an extra dense blunt wrap. The Goji Berry wrapped Guava Bars was a vibrant, deep orange evoking fresh-papaya flesh. The Lotus Flower wrapped Garlic Cocktail was the standout, utilizing overlapping lotus flower petals with a white-to-blue gradient creating a natural pattern across the roll. Each cone carried a black and silver Spliff Society cigar wrap and the tightest rolled filters I’ve ever seen in a preroll. The delicate nature of the cones kept me from doing any prework, but any prework was unnecessary because all three cones burned slowly and evenly down to the filter.
The cones supplied a large portion of the in-tube aroma. The Cocoa wrapped Brioche French Toast was rich and warm, providing a dense hot chocolate tone with notes of cream from the flower coming through near the finish. In the smoke, the sweeter notes from the cone fell away, replaced by a dark chocolate background tone supporting notes of buttery dough, cinnamon, vanilla, coffee, and hints of black pepper at the finish. The Goji Berry wrapped Guava Bars supplied a sweet-mixed berry top note supported by a tangy tropical mix of pineapple, orange zest, and mango. While burning, the sweet berry tone and hints of pineapple and orange persisted, but a rich cut cedar note joined to create a warm and persistent finish. The Lotus petal wrapped Garlic Cocktail had the widest spectrum of aroma as notes of hot garlic, black pepper, and clove led to sweeter, more rounded tones of orange blossom, blooming magnolia, and wild grass. The hot garlic, clove and soft wild grass provided a strong and savory flavor profile that was just as sticky as the other prerolls, clinging to the palate for several minutes after the joint was done.
The Cocoa Brioche French Toast started to induce a strong body pressure before burning out. Heavier than anticipated, the physical effect peaked before the headchange as a strong couchlocking pressure pulled at my eyelids, chest, and arms. Mentally, a sense of clarity wiped away my anxiety and persisted for the next hour despite the heavy physical effects. The Goji Berry Guava Bars worked in the opposite direction as the mental side hit first, shifting my mood towards a playful optimism while knocking out my ability to focus, leaving me happy but distractible. My heaviest muscle pains got some light relief but overall, the bulk of the effects from the Guava Bars was mental. The Lotus Flower Garlic Cocktail hit right in the center of the indica-sativa spectrum, killing my stress while maintaining my energy levels. The body profile built from come-and-go euphoric tingles to full blown waves of body pressure at the peak. The mental effects were surprisingly flexible, and I could have enjoyed them any time of day. Overall, the Spliff Society x Galaxy Labs collab achieved exactly what any good collab should, creating products even better than the sum of their parts.
