Review: Brownie Scout Prerolls by Dogwalkers
One of the initial standout strains from the Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot Program was Green Thumb Industries’ Brownie Scout. Although the buzz has subsided since then, the strain continues to be adored by many. Recently, I stumbled upon this cultivar in Dogwalkers Prerolls at Rise Effingham and decided to pick up a sample, curious to see if its reputation still holds true.
Brownie Scout is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Platinum GSC and Kosher Kush. These prerolls tested at 0.53% THC, 23.46% THCa, and 23.98% total cannabinoids.

I opened the metal tin to five stubby 0.35 gram prerolls. The smokeable portion of these was just slightly longer than the cardstock crutch, enforcing the stubby look. Even with some prework, these joints had some issues and getting them to burn smoothly was more a matter of luck than strategy.
The aroma inside the tin combined with a dry pull delivered a savory mix of black pepper, soil, wet forest, and roasted cocoa. As for the flavor, it featured notes of black pepper and soil, while the roasted cocoa transitioned into a bittersweet coffee flavor at the exhale.
Brownie Scout had a slow onset, and its effects didn’t fully kick in until well after finishing the preroll. Once the experience began, it delivered a heavy and hazy headspace that made it difficult to concentrate, sapping my motivation and energy.
I experienced a strong case of the munchies and eventually gave in to an increasingly irresistible bag of CheezIts. Furthermore, Brownie Scout left me feeling physically tired and weighed down for a considerable time after the session. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
