Sometimes there’s a strain that catches the trends so quickly that I just have to grab it when I can. I’ve seen posts all over social media toting the Burnt Toast strain for a long time. I finally caught it on the menu at Consume Marion in the form of live sugar from Nature’s Grace and Wellness.
Burnt Toast is a sativa leaning hybrid cross of Berner’s Cookies and French Toast. This batch of live sugar tested at 81.01% THCA and 83.71% total cannabinoids. NGW does not provide terpene testing data.
Vibrant, sunflower petal yellow with the consistency of rough sand suspended in a terpene heavy sauce, this gram was visually appealing. The small crystalline pieces clumped together very easily, so much so that I found it difficult to dose out a smaller amount. The melt was smooth and worked best at the lower end of the temperature spectrum.
The front of the aroma really does take on hints of burnt toast alongside savory earth and black pepper but transforms on the backend, highlighting fruity notes of lemon, grapefruit, mango, and sour grapes. The “burnt” flavor becomes playful and doughy when vaporized evoking the flavor of a croissant before the lemon and grapefruit take over.
My mood elevated quickly and a short-lived body euphoria turned around within an hour becoming remarkably heavy. The body buzz was strong and really did lock me into my chair while the cerebral effects remained open and elevated.
Overall Burnt Toast worked nicely as a strong pain reliever and heavy body buzz experience without the associated heavy cerebral effects and a showcase for some intriguing flavors.
