Review: Casey Jones Mini Preroll Pack by Swift Lifts
Prerolls have become such a market force that many cultivators have created standalone preroll labels. Verano has joined this trend, spinning out its Swift Lifts prerolls into a full-fledged brand. I recently stopped at Ash and Ivy in Benton and picked up a Swift Lifts Casey Jones Mini Preroll 10-Pack to review.
Casey Jones is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of (Trainwreck and Thai) and East Coast Sour Diesel. This pack of prerolls came as a 10-pack of 0.35g prerolls, testing at 0.159% CBDa, 0.491% THC, 28.112% THCa, and 31.350% total cannabinoids.

The small metal tin opened to reveal two snugly packed layers of five, two-and-a-quarter-inch cone prerolls. Slightly more body than Swift Lifts’ branded crutch, each cone was densely rolled with a tightly tucked top. The flower inside was finely ground with a deep forest green tone and a few fire orange hairs still intact. The larger sample size gave me a 70% success rate with three out of the ten shorty joints running or canoeing.
Tart on the nose, the aroma led with notes of grapefruit zest, hot diesel, yellow mustard, and wild grass straight from the tin. A few dry pulls hit the palate with more of the mustard and wild grass from the aroma, tasting much more rounded than the tangy scent. When burning, a roasty coffee flavor came to the front of the profile, while the diesel, mustard, and dried grass tones survived as lingering back-end notes. The classic savory flavors were quite sticky, remaining on the tongue long after the joint was gone.
All head and no body, Casey Jones was surprisingly cerebral, unleashing chains of creative and imaginative thought. Great for brainstorming or creative work, what the mental state lacked in focus it made up for in expansiveness. Physically, the effects were limited to brief pressure localized in my brow and eyes, but this was gone within ten minutes. Great for a quick break or as an accompaniment to morning coffee, these small joints were a good daytime option.
