Review: Cheese Wiz by Bedford Grow
Certain legendary genetic lineages will always grab my attention. Old school pre-legalization giants, such as the Haze, Kush, and Cheese, hold a special place in my heart. Bedford Grow has a constantly evolving genetic library that taps into these old treasures, and I’m always excited to see what traits BG has brought to the here and now with its new strains, including this Cheese Wiz.
Cheese Wiz is a hybrid cross of Queso Perro (UK Cheese and Stardawg) and Oz Kush Bx1. Picked up from Maribis of Springfield, this batch of flower tested at 15.58% THCa, 0.78% Delta-9-THC, 0.35% CBGa, and 16.71% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 1.27% of the total weight with β-caryophyllene, limonene, α-humulene, and α-bisabolol as the most prevalent.

Three chunky, dense flowers with varying shades of green and a smattering of rust colored hairs filled the jar. The trichome frost was light, creamy white, concentrated at the sugar leaf remnant that remained on the buds.
The aroma from the jar took some exploration before I identified sandalwood, cedar, and freshly turned soil as the primary scents. Once I ground the buds, notes of jasmine and sage started to appear. While the floral and vegetal hints of jasmine and sage did carry through to the flavor, they were quickly overwhelmed by the earthy, woody soil, kush, and cedarwood.
Cheese Wiz hit well above its test numbers opening with a “clean slate” headspace that wiped away my anxiety and most of my running internal dialogue. Leaving me dazed and unable to focus, Cheese Wiz was best at the end of the day when I could really soak in the heavy relaxation it provided.
Physically, Cheese Wiz provided a true tension “release” where the pain and stress I I’d been holding in my body melted away. This compounded the overall relaxation sensation. Overall, Cheese Wiz was a heavy hitting indica-style relaxation. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
