Review: Chilled Cherries by Galaxy Labs
It seems Cherry’s time has finally come. Over the past year, I’ve discovered more new strains boasting cherry flavors than ever before. The latest discovery is from craft label Galaxy Labs with its release of Chilled Cherries. I recently stopped into Stash Orland Hills and picked up a sample to review.
Chilled Cherries is a hybrid cross of Sunset Sherbert and Cherry Cookies. This batch of flower tested at 1.81% THC, 19.2% THCa, and 21.63% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 2.08% of the total weight.
This handful of just-larger-than popcorn nugs was consistently turf green throughout with wispy-outreaching rust-colored hairs. The trichomes were well developed and starting the transition from milky to amber. The entire structure had a looseness that made for an easy breakdown with a light hashy greasiness left on my fingers after handling.
A distinctive blend of sweet black cherry, fresh pinesap, and strawberry flesh floated atop a body of clean pool water and grape notes. The finish turned savory with an earthy musk. The fresh pine pushed to the front of the profile on the palate, while the musk tone provided the finish with both flavors clinging to the palate for a long time post exhale.
After a slow 15-minute build up, Chilled Cherries hit with a mind-clearing buzz that stopped my train of thought. Strong vibratory sensations spread throughout my body, originating in my chest and pulsing outward, weighing me down. This mentally blank and physically heavy experience helped to relieve pain and anxiety and left me unmotivated for a couple hours post sesh. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
