Review: Disco Fries by Flora
Flora Arbor has quickly established a solid stable of intriguing genetics. Every new release from the craft label is something I haven’t yet smoked. I recently stopped at High Haven Elgin to pick up another new-to-me Flora release, Disco Fries.
Disco Fries is a hybrid cross of 5-Alive and Double Burger. This batch of flower tested at 0.417% THC, 26.886% THCa, and 27.303% total cannabinoids. Terpenes were 3.23% of the total weight.

Large, pointed flowers with a stretched-out open structure carried a bright turf-green color. Splashes of purple, a few thick rust-colored hairs, and a glistening solidly milky trichome layer even further brightened the nugs. Spongy under a pinch with a slight stickiness to the surface, these flowers put up a surprisingly strong resistance to the teeth of my grinder on the first pass.
The scent struck my nose as soon as I broke the seal. Heavy notes of frying onions, hot garlic, wet moss, and fresh-rain petrichor created a classic GMO-style base. Sharper highlights of sweet floral honey, chili peppers, sour hot diesel, and feta cheese had less staying power but helped to create a wide-ranging aroma profile. The sharper highlight tones of honey, cheese, and diesel came to the front of the flavor profile in the smoke, while the savory-cooking onion and wet-mossy-forest notes created a lasting finish that coated the tongue.
Strong but with an even-keeled effect profile, Disco Fries provided a substantial headchange within the first five minutes of smoking. A heavy pressure tugged at my brow, chest and arms while an inescapable smile took over my mouth. Leaving me playful and irreverent with a small lift in my energy levels, Disco Fries was good for socializing or creative work. After the peak, the physical pressure subsided into an all over relaxation that helped to slowly bring me down from the mental energy lift.
