Review: Encore Milk Chocolate and Gummies by Verano
Usually, the best way for me to control long-lasting inflammation and soreness is with edibles. In preparations for a few days of physical labor, I needed to pick up edibles to manage any potential pain. Gummies are an easy go-to, but I also wanted something else. As mentioned in an earlier review, I’m not a fan of sour candies, so when I noticed Verano had two new flavors of non-sour Encore Gummies, I jumped on the grape and strawberry flavors. While at NuEra Urbana, I also picked up Encore’s Milk Chocolate Sativa and Milk Chocolate Harmony 1:1 CBD:THC to change it up a bit.
Milk Chocolate Sativa and Harmony 1:1 CBD:THC
As I also have mentioned, I prefer a 2.5:1 THC:CBD ration when eating edibles (and flower if it existed). So for every 25mg of THC, I want 10mg of CBD. Because I needed to be active, I chose the Milk Chocolate Sativa to mix with the Harmony 1:1 chocolates.
I prefer milk to dark chocolate, and these sativa chocolates definitely were milky and creamy with no cannabis flavor. I can tell if I enjoy the taste of edibles when I chew and let them dissolved in my mouth by how badly I want to swallow to get rid of the taste. These milk chocolates were a pleasure to dissolve for as long as I could. The texture was smooth, and each 10mg piece came in its own individual package, which made it great for travel.
I’ve eaten a lot of Verano edibles, and have noticed that the products have been very consistent with their effects. The effects of the milk chocolates were what I expected. The cerebral effects were solid, and the body buzz crept in late for me.
Mixing these two chocolate edibles together allowed for me to achieve the perfect ration without changing flavor. When I ran out of the milk chocolate first, I did have to mix the Harmony 1:1 gummies with the chocolate, and for me those are two different sweet treats.
Grape and Strawberry Gummies
I was pleased to be able to pick up some gummies that were not sour. I still don’t get the obsession with sour edibles. The ratio of sour candies to non-sour candies in the cannabis industry has to be more than the ration of sour versus non-sour candies in the regular candy market. Okay, last rant about sour gummies.
I prefer sweet candy. And the strawberry and grape gummies delivered. Each piece was coated with sugar, and the flavors of the grape and strawberry didn’t blow me away, but they did not make me want to swallow quickly to avoid the taste either. I preferred the strawberry flavor to nearly every other Verano flavors I’ve tried.
The grape gummies reminded me that I don’t really eat purple food. No eggplant. No redbor kale. No passion fruit. Which made me think of a meme in which a stoner is asked to name a purple food the stoner enjoys. The stoner’s response: several different purple edibles.
There’s not much more to say about Verano gummies that I haven’t already mentioned in earlier reviews. As with the chocolates, the gummies were also consistent and reliable in dosage and effect. If grape and strawberry are not a preferred flavor, Encore has several other to choose from. In fact, this is the second time I have binged on these gummies, until eventually, I change to an edible other than gummies.
