Review: Extreme Cream by Rythm
As an insomniac, I pay special attention to strains that promise a heavy indica experience. Having an option (or more optimally, a few options) available to get me to sleep can determine the difference between a good night and abject misery. When Extreme Cream from Rythm promised a “heavy handed indica” experience on the menu at Rise Effingham, I had to try a sample to see if it deserved a spot in the toolbox.
Extreme Cream is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Extreme OG and Cookies & Cream. This batch of flower tested at 0.61% THC, 24.61% THCa, and 25.21% total cannabinoids. The most prevalent indicated terpenes were limonene, b-caryophyllene, linalool, and b-myrcene.
Large, dense nugs were dark forest green with small splashes of pink and coated with a creamy amber trichome veil. Dry to the touch and hard, these flowers really showed their true potential after being run through the grinder. The buds left a hashy greasiness on my fingers when loading the flower into a bowl.
Blueberry, strawberry, grape, ginger, heavy cream, a hint of salty ocean, and woody cedar worked well together, creating a heavy scent that lingered on the nose. The heavy cream and berry notes were the stars here, smelling of candy sweet cereal milk. On the palate, the heavy cream became a buttery complement to the salty ocean and cedar as the sweet notes disappeared.
Extreme Cream is not a “day” strain. Overcome with a heavy mental haziness, a serious case of the munchies, and waves of strong indica weight throughout my body, I regretted smoking Extreme Cream early in the day as the mental stoning it induced didn’t wear off for several hours.
Insomniacs looking for a strain to lull them to sleep should enjoy the heavy-blanket effects Extreme Cream delivers. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
