Ever wanted to try a strain but couldn’t find it in the form you like? That’s my story. Reviewing as many strains as possible means that sometimes I take some budder over flower or popcorn over “top shelf.” That’s what got me out the door with a quarter of Bedford Grow’s Fraction Run at Consume Marion.
Fraction Run is an indica leaning hybrid cross of Cold Creek Kush and Chem De La Chem created in house by Bedford Grow. This batch of popcorn flower tested at 28.2% THCa and 29.4% total cannabinoids. The most prevalent terpenes were limonene, β-myrcene, and β-caryophyllene.
This quarter came as small bright green popcorn cuts with a small amount of fire orange hairs and an observable trichome frost. Very well trimmed and cured, these small flowers never crossed the line into too dry and the aroma could be detected from outside the jar.
The aroma itself was hard to pindown; the top end provided notes of fresh orange peel and hot diesel, but underneath I detected lavender, rich cinnamon, and musky hash. When smoked, the orange appearred briefly before being overtaken by heavy diesel and musky hash. The flavor here was remarkably heavy.
The effects were just as heavy as the flavor with a very open and spacious headspace up front, becoming a heavily sedating body buzz. My appetite skyrocketed before I was gently lulled to sleep, an effect I usually have to make an effort to seek out.
Overall, Fraction Run was a heavy flavored, heavy hitting indica that should provide relief to consumers seeking those strong effects. This is one I’ll be looking for more of.
