Review: Gary Payton Blunt by Lobo
Joints are for lunch, blunts are for dinner. At least that’s been my approach lately. Something about the slow burn and heavier smoke of a blunt makes for a better end-of-day sesh. For my latest blunt sesh, I picked up a Lobo Bold Gary Payton blunt.
Gary Payton is a hybrid cross of The Y and Snowman. The Lobo Bold Gary Payton Blunt comes as a 1-gram hemp wrapped blunt. This blunt tested at 0.79% THC, 22.94% THCa, and 24.02% total cannabinoids.

A three and three-quarters-of-an-inch long cocoa-brown cone was tucked down at one end and carryied a quarter-inch-wide glass mouthpiece at the other. Untucking the flower end revealed a finely ground lime green, lilac purple, and frosty gray bud inside. The blunt was packed densely but the slow burning hemp wrap kept things burning clean and evenly throughout.
Initial notes from the tube and a few dry pulls provided an herbal, savory blend of white sage, mustard seed, parsley, and wild grass, supported by a dense and tangy diesel note. On the palate the sour diesel came to the front of the profile, while the herbal mustard seed, parsley, and oregano, accompanied by a roasting barbecue flavor, became the supporting notes on the exhale.

The Gary Payton blunt wiped my mind clean of running thoughts and anxiety, widening my awareness, leaving me with a spacious, open headspace. A wave of muscle relaxation washed over me, knocking out some of my chronic pain but the bulk of the experience was more mental than physical. The wide-open mindscape and physical relief were a highly productive combination, pulling me into the moment and allowing me to focus.
