Review: Gary Payton OG by 93 Boyz
While I may complain about the small number of labels currently on sale in Illinois, there are still some I’ve not yet reviewed, including 93 Boyz. I recently stopped into Trinity Compassionate Care and picked up an eighth of Gary Payton OG by the Vic Mensa owned brand.
Gary Payton OG is a hybrid cross of The Y and Snowman. This batch of flower tested at 1.2% Delta 9 THC, 23.77% THCa, and 25.65% total cannabinoids. The indicated terpenes were β-caryophyllene, limonene, α-humulene, and α-bisabolol.

I opened the mylar to find a handful of medium-sized flowers and a couple popcorn stragglers. Bright-turf green with vivid-fire orange hairs crisscrossing each bud, these flowers carried a milky and sparkling trichome frost. Particularly dense and sticky in the bag, these flowers benefitted from a grind, becoming fluffy and carrying a hashy greasiness to the fingers.
The top end of the aroma profile was a chemical blend of tangy diesel, gas, and hot rubber, while the back end was more herbal, carrying fresh sweet mint, coriander, and black pepper. It was the tangy diesel and sweet mint that translated to the palate, balancing each other and creating a bright and herbal flavor. Gary Payton OG was heavy on the palate, lingering after the smoke was gone.
Gary Payton’s reputation as a centered hybrid struck true as my mental creativity increased quickly, but my energy levels gradually worked their way down as I became more relaxed after smoking. Playful and clearheaded, I found the strain was a good fit or brainstorming.
Overall, I enjoyed the gassy and herbal flavors and calm but present experience profile, and I look forward to sampling more 93 Boyz. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
