Review: Girl Scout Cookies Live Resin by Rythm
By Patsy Marie
Whenever a popular strain comes around the Illinois market that I haven’t yet tried, I get excited, especially when it’s a classic strain. Despite the fact that it has been popular for years in California and the West Coast in general, I haven’t seen Girl Scout Cookies released in flower or concentrate here in Illinois before this last November or December. With this being said, I was extremely thrilled when I saw Rythm had released Girl Scout Cookies Live Resin.
Girl Scout Cookies, or GSC, is a cross of OG Kush and Durban Poison. Purchased from Hatch Addison, this gram of Girl Scout Cookies Live Resin tested at 75.995% total cannabinoids with no present CBD or CBDA. Girl Scout Cookies’ dominant terpenes were caryophyllene, limonene, myrcene, and linalool.
The color of this Girl Scout Cookies Live Resin was a sunflower-yellow, and the consistency was approximately 70% sauce with the rest of it being compromised of small diamond crystals throughout the gram. The aroma of Girl Scout Cookies had a lemon-forward gas/diesel profile, not contrary to its actual profile upon consuming. Upon consuming, I was hit with a sweet lemon and gas aroma with the lemon aspect of the profile almost similar to lemonade. The exhale, though, filled the palate with gas and kush.
The effects of GSC are normally reported as uplifting and energetic at first, but I felt sedative effects within 5-15 minutes of consumption. As an approximate 60/40% indica-dominant hybrid strain, I’ve noticed amazing pain-relief effects with it.
I enjoyed using it at any time of day, but do note that it can be extremely relaxing and sedating, especially for newer consumers. Giggliness and happiness were to be expected, along with a heavy body high and munchies. In addition to pain relief, this strain was outstanding for appetite loss.
Overall, Girl Scout Cookies was one of the most memorable strains and Live Resins I’ve purchased from Rythm’s company. The instantly intoxicating scent of its kushy, gassy lemon profile and its heavily sedating effects made it an extremely reliable cultivar for a variety of conditions. For these reasons it has been added to my top 5 favorite Rythm Indica strains I’ve tried thus far. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
