Review: Glue Tang Haze by Rythm
Certain strain names come with expectations attached. Words such kush, haze, and glue have weight in the cannabis community, and they can influence what gets purchased and therefore, what gets grown. Rythm recently released Glue Tang Haze, so I headed up to Rise Effingham to see how the flower measured up to its big name.
Glue Tang Haze is a sativa-leaning hybrid cross of GG4 and Tangerine Haze and Puck. This batch of flower tested at 1.35% THC, 23.48% THCa, and 24.83% total cannabinoids.
Popcorn flowers with foxtail points branching off in different directions, Glue Tang Haze was turf green with fiery orange hairs crisscrossing the buds. The trichomes still had some sparkle when held to the light and had just started the transition from milky to amber, lending a yellow-green hue to the overall color. The buds were roughly trimmed with some larger pieces of sugar leaf still attached.
The scent inside the jar was bright and sharp, filled with the strong terpinolene characteristic aroma of burnt oranges and hints of dry hops, vinegar, salty ocean, followed by rich earth on the finish. The flavor rounded out and became smoother and more earthy. On the inhale, I tasted notes of cedar and gas, while the aftertaste was all about rich soil.
Glue Tang Haze provided the energy lift that is characteristic of sativa strains but with an unexpected cerebral load that made it less fit for work and more for play. My mind seemed to veer from one idea to the next, and combined with the energy boost induced some creative thinking.
The physical effects were restrained to a simple light tingling euphoria in my chest that seemed to come and go in waves. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
