Review: GMO Cookies Budder by PTS
If you’ve read my reviews then you know I’m obsessed with the relationship between terpenes and flavor. The science is complex, and we are only beginning to explore the available genetic options. This selection of GMO Cookies Budder from Progressive Treatment Solutions, picked up at Consume Oakbrook Terrace, highlighted some fascinating and completely different flavors than usual.
GMO Cookies is an indica dominant hybrid cross of Chemdawg and Girl Scout Cookies. This batch of budder tested at 67.56% THCA and 70.70% total cannabinoids. The most prevalent terpenes were limonene, β-caryophyllene, and β-myrcene. PTS also included a QR code on the package that linked to full lab testing panels for its entire line of concentrates, a move I applaud.
This gram appeared as a deep amber, almost light brown mound of shimmering wet sugar. The moisture content wasn’t high making for a concentrate that was extremely easy to work with and handle.
The scent in the jar was potent and memorable, opening with thick garlic and onion notes before skunk, rich earth, and musky hash made themselves known. The vaporized flavor carried the heavy lingering flavors of garlic, onion, and skunk. This was, without a doubt, the most savory cannabis extract I have tasted in Illinois.
The effects were just as heavy as the flavors. Strong cerebral effects, and a heavy tiring body buzz accompanied a robust appetite boost. This was classic indica. Even at small doses I was quickly sedated, and I came to rely on GMO Cookies as an easy insomnia cure (something I usually have to hunt for). Overall, the heavy flavors and strong indica effects make this one to seek out.
